Role Description

As a Product Owner at Go Real Travel, you will work closely with engineering to deliver high-quality features, improve reliability, and evolve our customer dashboard, itinerary-builder, mobile app, and internal tools. You’ll translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories and ensure the development team always builds the highest-impact work.

This position is ideal for a former or current programmer who wants to move into a product role while still deeply understanding the technical realities of our stack.

What We're Looking For

We are searching for candidates who:

• Manage and prioritize the product backlog across:

• Customer-facing platform
• Mobile App
• Internal systems, algorithms, and AI integrations

• Help define workflows, expansions, and optimizations for our AI-driven systems.
• Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
• Work daily with engineers to refine tasks, remove blockers, and ensure sprint success.
• Participate in architectural and technical discussions to evaluate complexity, risks, and alternatives.
• Analyze logs, metrics, and database data (MongoDB, Redis) to support decisions and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, Content, and Operations teams.
• Validate features post-release and ensure continuous improvement.

DevOps & Reliability Responsibilities

While you won’t be a full-time DevOps engineer, you must be comfortable stepping in when needed to support system reliability:

• Understand and assist with our infrastructure setup (AWS, ScaleGrid, VPS systems).
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability.
• Help diagnose outages, crashes, or performance bottlenecks.
• Coordinate fixes with engineering and ensure clear communication during incidents.
• Contribute to improving deployment workflows, monitoring dashboards, and scaling strategies.
• Ensure the product backlog includes performance, stability, and devops-related improvements.
  

You don’t need to single-handedly run DevOps — but you do need enough technical depth to meaningfully contribute and react quickly.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–5+ years in software development or technical product roles.
• Practical experience with:

• Ruby on Rails
• MongoDB & Redis
• Angular (basic familiarity acceptable)
• AI implementation (LLM features, automation, recommendation systems)
• Git/GitHub, branching workflows, code review familiarity
• AWS infrastructure basics (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch)

• UX/UI Awareness
• Familiarity with React Native and mobile app delivery pipelines
• Strong ability to work with engineers and understand technical tradeoffs.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues alongside developers.
• Excellent English communication (native not required).
• Comfortable with remote work and asynchronous collaboration.
• Highly organized, self-driven, and eager to learn quickly.
